Benefits on using Fairbanks on Over-the-Pole Flights: Fairbanks offers a significant advantage over Anchorage in many ways. The most probable reason people don't take advantage of this is because they don't know! As more people are informed of the benefits, the choice is clear to use Fairbanks. For most flights, over-the-pole flight paths are shorter! This of course adds up savings with flight time, maintenance hours on aircraft, fuel savings, pilot time, etc. In addition to over-the-pole flights, Fairbanks offers better weather conditions as reported by FAA.
